Go Eat Do is created by award-winning freelance journalist Stuart Forster.
When he’s not adding new posts to this site, he’s usually out on the road, looking for new stories, or writing them. Stuart also writes travel, food and lifestyle features for newspapers, magazines and websites.
Stuart was named Journalist of the Year at the Holland Press Awards in both 2015 and 2016, becoming the first person ever to retain the prestigious title.
In March 2016, Stuart was invited to Canada House in London to attend the British Annual Canada Travel Awards (the BACTAs as they are known in the travel industry). His feature Lunenburg – Canada’s Most Colourful Town, published by Rough Guides, was shortlisted for the Best Canada Online Coverage 2015 award.
He was shortlisted for the Travel Blogger and Vlogger of the Year award at the 2015 Travel Media Awards, held in London. He was one of the few people to make two shortlists. Stuart was also a finalist in the Travel Trade Feature of the Year category.
Just a few days later he attended another ceremony in London for work published here on go-eat-do.com. He was one of three writers shortlisted for the Independent Blogger of the Year accolade at The Comment Awards 2015.
Stuart is a native of North East England and has lived in Germany, India and Portugal. His love of the Netherlands began as a history student experiencing the country on exchange at the University of Leiden.
He is a trained photographer and, when he’s not writing and photographing food, a passionate cook.
