It’s always an honour to receive commendations. Here’s a look at awards for Stuart Forster over recent years.
I’m pleased to say that I’m one of those people who can describe themselves as an award-winning travel writer and journalist.
In March 2020 I was named Travel Writer of the Decade in the Netherlands Press Awards. I hope to prove myself worthy of such a huge accolade throughout the 2020s. A feature published by The Mail on Sunday was also shortlisted in the awards’ Best Print Feature category.
Stories published here on on Go Eat Do were a contributing factor in me being named Journalist of the Year at the Holland Press Awards of 2015, 2016 and 2019.
In 2017 I was presented with the Best City Article award at the Holland Press Awards, for a feature about Rotterdam. In 2018 I was named Influencer of Year at those awards.
I was also the winner of British Annual Canada Travel Award for Best Online Coverage in 2017, after being a runner-up for that award during 2016.
In addition to winning awards I have been a runner-up on a number of occasions. For example, I was shortlisted for Travel Blogger/Vlogger of the Year at the Travel Media Awards of 2015, 2016 and 2019.
In 2017 I was a finalist in the Travel Blogger of the Year (the title was different that year) and Trade Writer of the Year categories of the Travel Media Awards.
During 2015 and 2019 I was shortlisted for the Association of Independent Tour Operators (AITO) Travel Blogger of the Year award. In 2015 I was one of the three finalists for the Independent Blogger of the Year accolade at The Comment Awards. I was also a finalist in the Travel Trade Feature of the Year category at the 2016 and 2019 Travel Media Awards.
In 2017 and 2019 I was also a finalist for the Travel Blogger of the Year category of the British Guild of Travel Writers annual awards.
In August 2015 Go Eat Do was named eighth on a list of the top 50 UK food blogs to follow.
While Go Eat Do was still a fledgling entity, Wanderlust magazine named one of the site’s posts as their Blog of the Week on 12 May 2014.
I always appreciate being given recognition and when people take the time to mention or commend upon my work. Please don’t feel shy about making contact.
