The Snugpak Kitmonster 70 G2 is a heavy duty holdall with a 70 litre capacity. You have a number of options regarding how to carry this bag.
The grip handles feature a Velcro seal, for additional comfort while carrying this sizable piece of kit, and there are hand grips at either end. You can, should you choose, carry the bag via a shoulder strap that spans its length. Alternatively, the Kitmonster 70 G2 has detachable twin shoulder straps, meaning you can carry the bag on your back, in the style of a rucksack, should you so desire.
Available only in black, this piece of kit has a flexible tarpaulin exterior plus thick, durable fabric on its base.
For summer travel, including road trips and weekends away with friends, suitcases sometimes strike me as overly formal, so this bag is a welcome piece of equipment. It’s also a bag that doesn’t look out of place being carried in and out of sports halls.
Compartments for carrying gear
The Kitmonster 70 G2 has a compartment with zipper at one end. It proved large enough to take a pair of my walking boots, meaning I could isolate them from the rest of my kit.
Inside the bag’s main compartment there’s a further zip-sealable compartment. The orange fabric has a waterproofed lining that makes it ideal for carrying damp gear.
Interior and exterior pockets
The bag’s tarpaulin flap features two mesh pockets with zips. The smaller one is suited for storing keys and coins while the larger one is significantly larger than A4 documents, so ideal for carrying paperwork on a journey or for the duration of a tournament. The side of the bag also has a zip pocket.
Serious outdoor enthusiasts are likely to prefer a dedicated rucksack to the Snugpak Kitmonster 70 G2. Yet as a hardwearing, multi-purpose piece of kit that’s weather resistant, flexible and easy to store this bag is likely to find admirers.
Snugpak is a British manufacturer of outdoor clothing and equipment with more than 40 years of experience of producing kit. The Snugpak factory is at a former mill in Silsden, West Yorkshire. Stockists of the bag can be found on the Snugpak website.
